This US build glider could carry 13 troops and their equipment or either a jeep, a quarter - ton truck, or a 75mm howitzer loaded through the upward-hinged nose section. C - 47's usually were used as tow aircraft. 12000 CG-4A's were produced. In Operation Market Garden mostly used by the US forces, at Arnhem only two were used.
