Comments: This website is good in the detailed writing & the clear map. However, if
the pathway of both Allied & Nazi forces can be showed in "cartoon" manner
& in a more colorful way is better. Moreover, if the webiste can invite some people
involved at this operation e.g. soliders or citizens to express their feeling is more
perfect !!

depth of affection shown to the Paras, one can expect this from the older generation but
the younger generation join in as well. Those school children that are chosen to stand by

Comments: Thank You for this informative website. I have done considerable reading about
Airborne Soldiers and consider them the bravest of the brave. My father fought in the
Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard. He was a gunner on a TBF Avenger and flew
thirteen missions. I've never had the honor of serving in the military. I do get some
sense of what its like being a police officer. However, this is no comparison to being in
combat. I just want to say that it is with undying gratitude to men like my father and all
Allied Soldiers and Sailors a hearty Thank You. I've considerable reading about Airborne
Troops and I find it simply amazing their bravery and courage. Men like that truly saved
the world. I find it disheartening that most of the free world has no idea what the Allied
Soldiers endured., particularly Airborne Soldiers. In closing I'd like to wish a Thank You
to those surviving Troopers from Market Garden and a Salute and thoughtful Prayers to
those who did not make it home. God Bless them and their Families for giving the ultimate
sacrifice.

Comments: Andries, I've enjoyed your website very much. I can see that you have spent a
great deal of time in your lifetime studying Market-Garden. It's good to know that even
people from our generation still have an interest and a desire to keep up the history from
a battle 55 years ago studied and preserved for future generations. I would be interested
in hearing some more about some of your "finds" around the battlefields of
Arnhem. I think its just amazing that people are still uncovering material and fallen
soldiers from that action. Also before signing off, I wanted to let you you about your use
of D-Day+2 on the web page regarding the sacking of Major Brian Urquhart
http://www.marketgarden.com/mg/pega5b.htm. Since you were making reference to 2 days
before the start of Operation Market Garden that would be "D-Day-2". D-Day+2
would be September 19, 1944. Also, I was wondering what ever happened to Major Urquhart?
Did he survive the war and if so, is he still alive today. Keep up the good work. I'm
looking forward to seeing some updates from this year's anniversary ceremony. Also, I've
enjoyed your news releases from the newspapers in the Arnhem area whenever a discovery is
made from the battle. Best Wishes, Brian Behrens

Comments: A very interesting site. Well done. I am very interested in the history of WW
II. However I was borne in the '50s, from my youth on I was always collecting books,
photographs, model kits of the Second World War. Besides I am interested in aviation,
particulary Warbirds, that flew during the War. I made a website with my Aviation Top 100
and about my memorial travel to Normandy in 1994. In that year is was the 50's memorial of
D-day (6 June 1944). I invite you to take a look at my website. With kind regards, Alfred

Comments: Very good website! I am very interesting in WW II. I have several books and
videos. I visit a lot of museums for example in Arnhem, Nijmegen, Veghel and Bastogne. It
seems to me that making this site is very difficult. I think you know a lot of operation
Market Garden. It's a pity that the site is not in the Dutch language. I want to show my
respect to all the liberators and especially the hero's who fight for our freedom and give
their lives. I will still remember them. Thanks a lot!!!!!! Best regards.

was part of the 29th div's 1st assault wave to hit Omaha beach. There are numerous stories
about these brave men, but there seems to be little written about the people who fought
bravely at Arnhem. We should never forget these people and the sacrafices they made for
the entire world. Thanks to you, we have a place where we can easily be reminded.

..Oops. Hey, this is a Real Bridge here! Was linked here by way of Strategy Guides for the

Invasions on Japanese Game Machines. This is after COMMAND & CONQUER, TOTAL
ANNIHILATION, AGE OF EMPIRES, STARCRAFT and OPERATIONAL ART OF WAR. Our city & country
has been torn over many times in the history of wars. A very different nation now: we have
built monuments and tours, but many choose to forget for there are too many sad stories
that still haunt us. My humble & respectful Salute to the actual Heros & famillies
of the "Real Thing" who have left their traces here. I just cannot help admiring

Comments: Hello there in Arnhem! First, I must express my deep admiration for your work.
If only I had found you on the net in 1994! In July that year, I happened to find a
paperback written by one Col. Pinto of the Allied Counterintelligence, called
"Spycatcher". In the book, he claimed that he had captured the man ("King
Kong") who betrayed the operation. That made me curious, as I in my general interest
for WWII had never heard about him before. I decided to find out if the story could be
true, with the aim of publishing an article about it in time for the 50 years date of the
operation in September. So, in a short time, I read a lot of books, but found nothing to
substantiate the story of treason. On the other hand, I made contact with an Englishman
who survived the battle to live on in Norway until now. I spoke to him at lenght, but was
not able to put it in print as an article. But I succeeded in making my research into a
historic article about the battle, and it was printed here in my newspaper (the 3rd
biggest in Norway, circ. 200 000)on the day 50 years after the first landing. Since then,
I have been thinking of visiting Arnhem. And now, finally, it seems that I shall succeed.
My plan is to be in Arnhem from Sunday afternoon the 18th of April until the afternoon the
next day. If you could take a couple of hours off from your family, I would be happy to
buy you a drink or something and discuss the traitor-theory etc. If not, I would still
like to hear your wiew on the matter of Col. Pinto and "King Kong". Did he make
it all up? All the best from Eirik Lindahl (48) reporter in Dagbladet in Oslo
